I think I have either four chapters to go (at 16 pages a chapter or shorter chapters and an epilogue)...sigh. It's ben fun writing this one, remembering things I hadn't thought about in over seventeen years...since I got married.
But throughout the process, talking to my niece and former high school friends, I realized all women want the same thing, a man who loves and respects them. Though this book is based in Kenya and have Kenyan characters (the man is raised and educated in America), the setting, the traditions and societal quirks add to the richness of the romance. It's been one heck of a ride (still is since I'm not yet done.)
ATLANTA TRIP Part 2:
Anyway, for the rest of Atlanta trip. We visited Martin Luther King Center with its info boards and videos.
All I can say is that America has come far. Very far.
Outside the center are the statues of Gandhi and the character from Roots, Kunta Kinte holding his baby...see below.
The MLK memorial looked really nice:
And the eternal flame sits opposite the musoleum:
It was nice to see the Centennial Park,
Titanic Aquarium, it's huge, and Coca Cola Headquarters is right by it.
I'd definitely go back to visit and take the kids. Oh, and the food at the resort and Old Station Mall was to die for. I swear I added pounds, which I'm working hard to shed now that I'm back.
