The agent that requested my YA fantasy just rejected it. Why? She said the story dragged. Since it's 90,000 words, I gues I could slice and dice it. On the hand, it's always something with these people, isn't it? I refused to give up though. Love those characters to death. Will start subbing via slow mail once I'm done licking my wounds.
Meanwhile I'm back writing romance. This one is based in Kenya, my home country. Am I thrilled? You betcha! I'm going to be a pioneer, a trailblazer of the genre, yaa-hooo! The editor of a major publishing house gave me the go-ahead, so we'll see. I hope my critique partners enjoy it.

Your crit partners ARE enjoying it!! And it's sooooo cool that you've got this pioneering opportunity, Bella!! There's a huge open market there that will no doubt open the door for more ops.
Thanks, Kath. I hope so. I just want people to read my books and enjoyed them...maybe even find someone they identify with.
Are you going to submit it to CV for us to critique? I really want to read it.
I'm sending you a couple of articles, check your e-mail.
Sure Denise, why not. It will be a little different but romance is romance, right?

Hey Bella --
Yup -- moved on to Book 3. And a new one with new characters. I feel your rejection pain. It's a tough go out there. But I loved Kris Dagger, so I imagine it's just a matter of time for you!
Kendra
Rejections suck, but Kris Dagger is an excellent book. It'll find a home.
And I'm loving the Kenya romance.
Thanks Kendra and Dawn, I hope I find a home for KD.
Oh, poo. Sorry about the YA reject. I really liked what I read. :)
Thanks Jennifer. I hope to find a home for it one day.
Don't give up on it. I love your story. ~Suzi
