Since the Spring Break, I've been on my toes or behind the wheels driving my five to and from events, rushing to the hospital, looking over their shoulders as they do projects and going hoarse from yelling about homework, chores... something, anything...you know venting.
Yeah, I'm one of those moms who yell to light the fire under the little angels' wings, and boy do they soar. For the entire week, they've been at school at least ten minutes before school started, a major feat in my house . My eleven year old even told the dad, "Mom's become a tyrant. She wakes us up at seven."
Puh-lease. I'm up way before that and go to bed way after they're asleep.
When he's around they don't crawl out of bed until seven-thirty and my eleven year old takes at 30 minutes to least get dressed. Half the time I'm yelling down the stairs at her to hurry up or standing in the middle of her room while she dressed. And she doesn't shush. I'll be lecturing her on tardiness and why-oh-why does she need me yelling at her so early in the morning and she'd add words edgewise to explain why she's not ready.
"I couldn't find a pair of pants." Why? You may ask. Because she'd yanked the one at the bottom a few days back and the rest are now on the floor of her closet. Anything below eye-level doesn't count...argggh.
I have to fish through her hamper for folded, clean clothes every laundry day because she just scoops everything from the floor and throws them with the dirty clothes. Motherhood is great, isn't it?
From tomorrow, this will be me...being treated like a queen.
In my dreams!!!!! As you can see, they're not fawning or at my beck and call. Same ol' same ol'
Funny how we mom always feel we need TLC after a marathon of events yet the very next day we're up and chugging along like the little engine that could.
Enough venting. Better get some work down.

Loved the graphics! I thought I was the only harried mother yelling in the morning to get my 12 yr old to get it together. I don't know what's wrong with these girls!

Yes motherhood is tough. I have to keep telling myself they're worth it even when they're driving me crazy. I tell DH all the time that I can't wait until they're off to college LOL.
